Holding on to some cards for longer than necessary in rummy is another way to bluff and confuse your opponents. For instance, you might decide to hold onto both of your identical-rank cards for a few turns if they are in different suits so as to give the imprrummy patti gameession that you are almost done making a set with those cards. In addition to giving you more chances to form sets and runs without interference, this can make it harder for your opponents to guess which cards you'll need. To play rummy well, you have to be aware of your opponents' movements at all times. You can learn a lot about which cards are still in play and which ones have already been used by observing the cards that your opponents are discarding & the ones they are pulling from the draw or discard pile.
