A certain number of cards—typically seven or ten, depending on the number of players—are dealt to each player at the start of the gamesattaking. With the top card face-up to begin the discard pile, the remaining cards form a draw pile. Taking turns, players draw cards from the discard or draw piles in an effort to form legal card combinations. In Rummy Time, sets or runs are the only possible combinations.
