Each player receives a set number of cards; typically, two players receive ten cards, while three or more players receive seven. The draw pile is made up of the remaining cards, and the ddragon slotsiscard pile is started by placing the top card next to it face up. Players alternately draw cards from the discard or draw piles in an effort to form valid melds with runs (three or more consecutive cards of the same suit) or sets (three or four cards of the same rank). A player can declare "Rummy" and put down their hand after all of their cards have formed valid melds.
